BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. The total assets of banks in Azerbaijan exceeded 45.9 billion manat ($27 billion), total liabilities were 39 billion manat ($22.9 billion), and total capital was 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion) as of July 31, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, assets increased by 7.91 percent, liabilities by 7.11 percent, and the capital of the banking sector increased by 13.62 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
In general, the loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks increased by 15.6 percent, or 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion), and reached 21.4 billion manat ($12.6 billion) compared to the indicator as of July 31, 2022.
