BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan amounted to $5.183 million from January through October 2023, which accounted for 0.10 percent of Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries, Trend reports.
Data from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure increased by 26.23 percent compared to the same period in 2022 when it stood at $4.106 million.
Azerbaijan's exports to Tajikistan from January through October 2023 reached $4.602 million, an increase of 14.93 percent over the same period in 2022 (just over $4 million).
Azerbaijani imports from Tajikistan also saw growth, reaching $581,100. This figure increased by 5.69 percent when compared to imports during the same period in 2022 ($102,000).
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover decreased by 6 percent, or $2.778 billion, from January through October 2023 year-on-year, from $46.2 billion to $43.5 billion.
Exports accounted for $29.3 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $5.36 billion or 15.46 percent less than in the same period last year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 67.43 percent against 74.97 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports in the reporting period increased by $2.58 billion or 22.32 percent year-on-year from $11.58 billion to about $14.17 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 32.57 percent against 25.03 percent a year earlier.
The foreign trade balance, while remaining positive during the period under review, declined year-on-year by over $7.95 billion or 34.39 percent to $15.17 billion from $23.1 billion in the 2022 review period.
