BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. The US produced a total of 27,012 pounds of uranium concentrate in the third quarter of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), thus, the production in the reporting period increased over eightfold year-on-year (3,245 pounds in 3Q2022).
At the same time, US uranium production in the third quarter of 2023 grew almost fourfold, compared to 2Q2023 (7,443 pounds).
The production for this quarter took place at three facilities located in Wyoming, namely the Nichols Ranch ISR Project, Lost Creek Project, and Smith Ranch-Highland Operation.
However, the EIA data shows that the number of operating facilities for uranium processing in 3Q2023 decreased to 3 from 5 in 2022-end.
Meanwhile, in 2022, uranium mines in the US yielded 194,000 pounds of uranium concentrate, marking a noteworthy rise from the 21,000 pounds produced in 2021, driven by the resumption of production at the White Mesa Mill in Utah.
