BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Azerbaijan's state budget for 2024 envisages allocation of 1.1 billion manat ($650 million) for development of agro-industrial complex, which is 53.6 percent or 644.5 million ($379 million manat) more compared to 2023, Trend reports via "Citizen's Budget Guide" published by the country's Finance Ministry.
A sum of 546.2 million manat ($321.29 million) has been allocated for various agricultural measures, 499.8 million manat ($293.5 million) is earmarked for the financial support of land reclamation, irrigation, and irrigation systems, and 48.5 million manat ($28.5 million) is allocated for veterinary activities.
Additionally, an allocation of 502.9 million manat ($295.79 million) is designated for measures to ensure food security in Azerbaijan in 2024.
Furthermore, 60 million manat ($35.29 million) will be allocated in order to enhance food security, reduce dependence on imported wheat, and establish new regulatory mechanisms to increase the country's self-sufficiency in wheat.
Previously, Azerbaijan's state budget for 2023 envisaged the allocation of 1.2 billion manat ($710 million) for development of agro-industrial complex.
