BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. A deficit was recorded in Azerbaijan's state budget last year, Trend reports via the country's State Statistics Committee.
The committee's data showed that the budget revenues topped 35.57 billion manat ($20.9 billion) in 2023, representing a 16 percent growth compared to 2022.
Meanwhile, state budget expenditures reached 36.45 billion manat ($21.44 billion), a 13.7 percent increase year on year.
As a result, the state budget had a deficit of 883.7 million manat ($519.8 million) as of late December 2023.
Azerbaijan's nominal GDP over the selected period was 123 billion manat ($72 billion).

Whereas, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues climbed by 16.2 percent, reaching 30.6 million manat ($18 million) in 2022.
Budget expenditures grew by 16.7 percent last year, totaling 32 million manat ($18.8 million) compared to 2021. As a result, a budget deficit of 1.3 million manat ($760,000) was formed.
