BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Chief economists forecast moderate economic growth for the countries of Central Asia in 2024, the survey conducted by the World Economic Forum (WEF) says, Trend reports.
As such, 82 percent of respondents anticipate moderate GDP growth in the region, while the remaining 18 percent are split evenly, with 9 percent predicting strong growth and 9 percent expecting weak growth.
Overall, in Central Asia, 91 percent of WEF survey respondents now anticipate moderate or higher growth, up from 84 percent in January.
Meanwhile, in January 2024, 56 percent of world chief economists predicted a weakening global economy this year.
However, the latest survey reveals a dramatic shift, with only 17 percent now expecting a decline and more than 80 percent anticipating that the global economy will strengthen or remain stable for the rest of 2024.
