BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has rolled out the preliminary figures on the state and consolidated budgets for 2025, and one of the key points on the agenda is the earmarking of funds for the social sector next year, along with the potential to broaden the social package, the Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament's Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship Vugar Bayramov wrote on social network account, Trend reports.

The state budget estimates social safety and security spending at 4.9 billion manat ($2.8 billion). This direction will receive 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion) in 2024. Thus, social spending will rise 14 percent. The State Social Protection Fund allocates most of the cash to the social sector, even though the preliminary data does not specify the structure of social protection and security expenses.

To note, the state budget expenditures in 2025 are projected at 39.6 billion manat ($23.2 billion). Of these, 24.9 billion manat ($14.6 billion) or 63 percent will be spent on current expenditures, 12.3 billion manat ($7.2 billion) or 31 percent on capital expenditures, and 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion) or 6 percent - on expenditures related to servicing the state debt and liabilities.
