ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 22. In the first quarter of 2024, Georgian investors contributed $88.5 million to Kazakhstan’s economy, Trend reports.
This was announced during a meeting between Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili.
Over the past decade, Georgia’s total investment in Kazakhstan has surpassed $500 million.
The two sides discussed areas of cooperation, including transport and logistics, agriculture, energy, tourism, aviation, and cultural and humanitarian ties. Special attention was given to the opportunities in the transit and transport sectors, with both countries serving as key links in major transcontinental transport corridors that provide the shortest routes from Europe to China and Southeast Asia.
Levan Davitashvili expressed Georgia’s keen interest in strengthening ties with Kazakhstan and emphasized the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission in driving forward bilateral relations.
Davitashvili visited Astana to participate in the 12th session of the Kazakhstan-Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
