ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 16. The first session of the Public Council of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan was held this year, where the results of work in 2024 were discussed and the work plan for 2025 was approved, Trend reports.
The approved work plan includes several extensive areas, particularly stabilizing the railway transportation market, developing shipping, managing the national budget, combating corruption, implementing the action plans outlined in the Concepts for the development of transport and logistics potential until 2030 and railway transport until 2029, addressing business issues in freight and passenger railway transportation, conducting the Year of Trades, implementing reforms in railway transport, and developing competition in freight railway transportation.
The Council worked on proposals to improve legislation, considered citizens' appeals and interacted with subordinate organizations of the Ministry throughout 2024.
Council members regularly analyzed budget execution, actively participated in industry forums, raised the issue of accessibility for people with disabilities, and created conditions for an inclusive society.
To note, in the course of the meeting the composition of five sectoral commissions of the Public Council was approved: the Commission on Civil Aviation, the Commission on Railway and Water Transport, the Commission on Road Transport, the Commission on Roads, the Commission on Budget and the Commission on Anti-Corruption.
