New bridge to be built over Astarachay river

The construction of a new bridge over Astarachay between Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic will be begin in the near future, said the governor of Astara county Hassan Rostamzad, Trend reports citing ILNA.

According to Rostamzad, this bridge will be the third international bridge over the Astarachay between Iran and Azerbaijan and will be used to allow transit trucks cross the bridge.

Rostamzad said that 400 billion rials (about $9.5 million) have been allocated for the construction of this bridge.

Rostamzad added that the grain warehouses and oil storage facilities are being built on the territory of the Astara railway terminal.

The governor said that as for the Astara-Rasht railway, 10 km of this railway is in the Astara county of Iran. About 600 billion rials (about $14.2 million) have been allocated for the construction of this railway, and construction is underway.
