Uzbekistan prepares to launch new resort zone

A resort area in the Orta Chirchiq district of Uzbekistan, near Tuyabuguz reservoir is being built, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan National News Agency.

Currently, four guest houses, a restaurant, a beach and a swimming pool are expected to be launched on the territory of the area.

Creation of resort zone on abandoned territories was started a few years ago, at the expense of investment contributions of foreign partners in the amount of $600,000.

Presently, the work continues on the setting of rooms in the guest houses, while overall the resort may be fully launched in 10-15 days.

"The quarantine situation in the country will increase the requirements for tourist services and responsibility of employees," the report said.

The construction is carried out in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on urgent measures to support the tourism sector to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The government of Uzbekistan granted a number of preferences to the tourism industry. In particular, 1,750 entities have been granted property, land and social tax benefits worth about 60 billion soum ($5.9 million).
