French Development Agency, Veolia expand their activities in Uzbekistan

Uzbek government has approved the 'Concept of Modernisation and Reconstruction of the Heating Supply System of Tashkent city', which was presented by French Veolia company, Trend reports with reference to the Tashkent City Hall.

The sides will hold a tender for the concept implementation in the near future, after which they will start practical work.

This was announced during the negotiations between the Tashkent Administration and the French Development Agency (AFD).

In addition, during the negotiations, Tashkent Administration offered to the agency a joint implementation of the mentioned concept.

"The agency representatives are ready to participate in such important projects. In the near future the concept for modernization and reconstruction of the transport system of Tashkent city will be presented by the AFD," the message said.

Veolia is a French multi-profile company based in Paris, founded in 1999. It specializes in three areas: water supply and treatment (for both municipal and industrial customers), utilities (including garbage collection and disposal), energy (electricity supply, microclimate maintenance, installation and maintenance of energy and heating equipment).

In 2019, the company provided 98 million people with drinking water, produced almost 45 million megawatt hours and processed 50 million tons of waste. Veolia Environnement had revenues of almost $30 billion in 2019.
