Ban of Georgia supports construction of three new modern greenhouses in Georgia

With the financial support of the bank, three new modern greenhouses will be built in the village of Gagma Zanati, Abashi region of Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.

One of the three greenhouses will grow an average of 4,000 strawberries. It is expected that an average of 2,400 kg of strawberries will be harvested during the year. It will be sold in Batumi and Tbilisi.

In two other greenhouses, the entrepreneur plans to grow cucumbers and tomatoes in the spring and summer season. It is planned to collect from 800 vegetables, 2,000 kg of cucumbers, and the same amount of tomatoes. The product will be sold in Samtredia, Abasha, and Zugdidi. In the winter season, the entrepreneur plans to grow 400 kg of lettuce in two greenhouses, which will be sold in Batumi and Tbilisi.

The bank allocated 30,500 lari ($9,502.38) for the project. The construction of the greenhouses has been completed and the greenhouses will be fully commissioned from November this year. The project employs 6 people.

“It is gratifying that three modern greenhouses have been built in Abash with the support of the Bank of Georgia. It is important for us to contribute to the implementation of such projects since we believe that by promoting such initiatives, we will be able to develop both small business and agriculture. At the same time, supporting local businesses remains a constant priority of the Bank of Georgia. We do not stop and continue to support similar projects throughout the country,” said Merab Akhvlediani, Director of Retail Banking Services of the Bank of Georgia.
