The Rasht-Caspian railway line in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) will stimulate development of Iran's production, Deputy Director of Iran’s Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company (CDTIC) Abbas Khatibi told ISNA, Trend reports.
The deputy director stressed that the establishment of the Rasht-Caspian railway is considered the next step for the improving the North-South Corridor.
Khatibi added that the total length of this railway line is 35 kilometers. However, the construction of the railway line is divided into two parts. The length of the first part is 17 km and the second - 18.7 km.
"The efforts are being made to put this railway into operation in the next Iranian year (March 21, 2021 to March 21, 2022)," he said.
The deputy director also noted that in general, there is a 34-percent progress in the construction of the Rasht-Caspian railway line. While in the in the infrastructure work of the railway line, the progress is 55 percent. The rails have already been laid on 5.5 km of this railway line.
