Azerbaijani President Attends Opening of New Pedestrian Subway in   Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr A. Ismayilova / Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, attended the opening ceremony of a new pedestrian subway in the intersection of Rashid Behbudov Ave and Fizuli Ave on 29 September.

Construction of the subway (width - 17m, length - 36m) was carried out by Akkord group of companies. The work commenced on 1 January 2007.

Today Azerbaijani President also attended the construction side of a new international bus station in Baku. The construction is planned to be completed in 2008. The new bus station will be able to serve 15,000-20,000 passengers and up to 1,000 buses per 24 hours. The main routes will be CIS, Iran, and Turkey.

The President also attended opening ceremony of a new highway bridge in Z. Bunyadov Ave in Baku. AZN 22.1mln was put to construction of the highway bridge.
