A.Badalova / The total volume of investments in the Azerbaijani economy since gaining independence in 1991 to 30 June 2007 made up $42bln, Heydar Babayev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development said at the international conference 'Direct Regional Investments in the Black and Caspian Sea Regions on 2 October.
About 70% of investment was made up by foreign capital. The volume of investments amounted to $4bln in the first quarter of 2007.
" Azerbaijan creates all conditions to draw foreign investors. We are planning to draw foreign investments in the future, Babayev said.
An increase of GDP exceeds 30% during the nine months of 2007.
