2008 Lexus GS Range Update (EU)
( Worldcarfans ) - The third generation Lexus GS range was launched in Europe in 2005 and was the first Lexus model to feature the new L-finesse design philosophy and is ready for a minor touch-up. The facelift mainly consists of small exterior and interior adjustments, like the restyled grille and headlamps, new indicator lights in the door mirrors, lowered rear bumper, range of new colours, redesigned gearlever gate, switchgead and instrumentation.
A mor note-worthy change is the upgrading of the GS 430 to the GS 460, with a 4.6 liter V8 with 255 kW (347 hp) and 8 speed automatic transmission. The GS 460 is 23% more powerful than its predecessor, but also manages to lower CO2 emissions to 258g/km.
The Lexus GS 450h only receives some more hybrid logos all around the car. The GS 300 is enhanced with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) systems, improving dynamics. AVS allows the driver to adjust the damper settings to normal or sport and VDIM enhances performance, traction control and vehicle stability through ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), TRC (Traction Control), VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and EPS (Electronic Power Steering).
The new GS range will be in showrooms late 2007.
