Azerbaijani Bank Departments not to Use Control of ATMs from 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I. Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry proposes to expand the list of operations to establish control over ATMs to regulate payment in cash from 2008.

The new installed bank departments on currency operations enable users to change the issuing of checks from cash machines by issues from bank computers installed within them. The decision was made during the meeting of the Parliamentary Commission on Economic Cooperation dedicated to discussions on changing supplements to the Tax Code, Natik Amirov, the Deputy Tax Minister of Azerbaijan, said.

"The proposal was made by the National Bank and Association of Azerbaijani Banks, and we accept the proposal in order to further develop entrepreneurship within the country," Amirov said.

In compliance with the new rules of the NBA, implementation of the exchange-currency operations have been functioning since September 2006, which envisage acceleration of integration of exchange process to operation bank systems. The essence of the new demands of the NBA is to upgrade the status of the exchange currency facilities.

There are 460 branches of banks and forty banks operate in the country.
