Ferrari FXX Updated with Evolution Package

( Worldcarfans ) - Ferrari launched the FXX program in 2005 and is the most advanced GT ever created at Maranello. Now a new Evolution package enhances the handling of performance and we can looking forward to further evolutions as the project has been extended by 2 years up until 2008/2009.

The FXX's 6262 cc V12 engine packs a mind boggling 860hp at 9500rpm, this is an increase of 70hp/1000rpm on the previous version which has allowed for gear ratio modifications, the time for gearshifting also drops by 20ms down to 60 ms.

The FXX Evolution Package features a new traction control system with 9 (nine) different settings giving the driver even more options to influence the car's behaviour on the track, just as F1 drivers do to maximize performance. The FXX is equipped with special 19' bridgestone tyres which last even longer due to the new car setup and front suspension geometry. These are backed up with new brake pads which now last twice as long.

The aerodynamic efficiency has also been increased by 25% with the use of new rear diffuser, nolder and rear flaps and the active front spoiler control system settings have been modified to complement this.

The FXX is developed exclusively for track use and R& D purposes, unfortunately we will never see a road going version. There will be six planned events next year where the FXX will participate including the end-of-season Ferrari World Finals.
