Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / Introduction of 'single window' principle (single registration body) in Azerbaijan may double the number of entrepreneurs launching a new business, the head of the Economic Analysis and Registration Department at the Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry Zaur Fati-zade said. Beginning from 1 January 2008, business registration will take place in tax bodies.
According to Fati-zade, annually some 10-12,000 juridical entities may be registered in the country, while currently it is only 5-6,000.
Today enterprises have different codes for different types of activities (codes for tax purposes, statistics, social payments), but introduction of the new system provides for a unified code, to be issued in tax bodies.
The Taxes Ministry has been registering only natural persons, and their number constitutes 255,000.
As a result of introduction of the 'single window', the term of registration of new enterprises will decrease from 53 days to 3 days and the number of procedures from 15 to 5.
A common virtual basis will be established to commence registration of enterprises in a unified state body ('single window'). It will include all data on introduction of unified codification system.
According to the WB Doing Business-2007 report, Azerbaijan takes the 96th place among 178 countries regarding simplicity of business doing conditions.
