WB to Continue Collection of Data for Development of Economic Memorandum on Azerbaijan

Khalilova / On 26 November, the World Bank (WB) resumed consultations with the Azerbaijani Government to develop an economic memorandum on Azerbaijan which will cover an assessment of the economic situation in different directions, the Baku office of WB said on 26 November. A WB mission headed by the senior economist on Azerbaijan Christos Kostopulos will arrive in Baku on 12 December in order to collect data and to carry out analytic work.
Development of the memorandum is expected to be completed by the summer of 2008.
The analytical memorandum will envisage recommendations of the WB regarding improvement in several directions. It will reflect the general trend of economic growth in Azerbaijan and, general economic policy.
In several countries (ex. Russia) economic memorandum is regularly issued. But it is the first one on Azerbaijan.
