( dpa )- Land Rover's new luxury LRX coupe-crossover concept is to make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show from January 13 to 27 with first images revealing a dynamic style and a large glass sunroof.
Smaller than the Freelander , the model stands out with two long doors and a roofline tapering lower down towards the rear. Narrow front headlights and grille with two large air inlets dominate the front.
Aimed at the premium segment, the four individual seats are in leather with polished aluminium and textile inlets. The futuristic cockpit has two large touch screens and a gear lever dominating the centre.
The driver can illuminate the interior at will - sporty people make like red and those who prefer rough terrain can opt for green and for normal driving blue.
Should a decision be made to produce the LRX, it would be built from 2009 on the Ford Focus platform complemented by a hybrid electric motor fitted to the rear axle, according to first reports.
