( dpa ) - The price for crude oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) slipped 67 cents ahead of an OPEC oil ministers meeting on Friday.

On Thursday, one barrel ( 159 litres) of crude stood at 88.10 dollars, compared with 88.77 dollars the previous day, the Vienna-based OPEC Secretariat said on Friday.

At Friday's meeting, changes in output quotas are likely to remain unchanged, with some OPEC member states already hinting at cuts at an upcoming meeting in early March in case of slowing global demand.

OPEC's 13 members account for 40 per cent of the world's oil production.
