Global Credit Rating of Azerbaijan Raises by 5.5 Points

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 March / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ According to the report of the Global Country Credit Rating, the global credit rating of Azerbaijan has risen by 5.5 points, the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan said. The rating of Azerbaijan rose from 80 to 77 during the year.

The rating of all the developed countries has decreased because of the financial crisis. For instance, the credit rating of U.S. has decreased by 0.3 points for the last half year.

The Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan said that Azerbaijan withstands the global crisis and is still a stable country. The Switzerland took the leading position with 96.4 points and Zimbabwe took the last place with 5.8 points.

The report is annually developed by the magazine Institutional Investor specialized in finance and business.

The assessment was carried out among 174 countries.
