Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company to Purchase New Tanker within Month

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 July /corr. Trend E.Ismaylov / Within a month, Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (ASCSC) will acquire a new tanker with the deadweight of 12,000 tons in the Russian Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M.Gorky (Republic of Tatarstan), the Company's Head Aydin Bashirov said on 5 July.

"Talks are continuing. Other companies also want to purchase the ship, but there are good relations between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan and they have intentions to sell the ship exactly to ASCSC," Bashirov said.

Furthermore, in October-November a new tanker with the deadweight of 13,000 tons, produced by Krasnoe Sormovo shipbuilding plant (Nijni-Novgorod), will be brought to Baku.

For the next year, ASCSC ordered one more tanker at Krasnoe Sormovo, with the deadweight of 13,000 tons. It should be ready by the mid or end of April of the next year - in the period of opening navigation.

Universal vessel such as Rо-Rо or the sea-railroad-passenger ferry are also available.
