Uzbek-Iranian Business-Forum Expected in Tashkent

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 29 July / Trend corr. T.Jukov / The Iranian business delegation headed by Masud Mirkazem, Trade Minister, paid a visit to Tashkent, a special correspondent of Trend in Tashkent reported.

According to Uzbek Trade and Industry Chamber (TIC), the delegation unites representatives of largest Iranian companies engaged in the oil and gas spheres, construction, textile, food industry, as well as motor-car construction and trade.

Businessmen from the two countries will participate in the business forum on 30 July. The prospects of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran are expected to be discussed in the business forum. The sides will exchange of views in order to reach common position to create favorable conditions for further expansion of business contacts.

Iran traditionally enters into the ten leading economical partners in Uzbekistan. In 2007, the trade turnover between the both countries totaled $565mln. Uzbekistan has a positive balance $506.2mln (export- $535.6mln and import- $29mln).

Over 117 joint ventures including 24 companies with 100% Iranian capital have been operating in Uzbekistan.
