Total Turnover of Exchange Transactions at Baku Stock Exchange Reaches AZN 5mln within Six Months of 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 August / Trend / The total turnover of transactions on all instruments on Baku Stock Exchange made AZN 4,995.209mln over January-July of 2008. This indicator exceeds the same one for the analogous period of the last year by 243.39%.  97.66% of transactions fell to share of government securities.

It should be noted that the growth of the stock exchange activity was registered not in all segments of the organized securities market. The reduction was observed In the sector of corporate securities. So, a 47.76% decrease was registered on the equities primary market; the secondary market of stocks reduced by 99.73%. The largest growth occurred on the repo transactions market and Notes secondary market (see: the table below).
