Baku Cardboard Plant to Export Production to Neighbor Countries

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 August / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / Azersun Holding is going to export cardboard products to Georgia, Dagestan and Turkmenistan, which was possible after the increase of production capacity of the Baku cardboard plant (Karton-tara Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC)) to 25mln sq m, the holding said. Rise in the potential of the enterprise enabled to construct two new production lines in 2008.

The Baku cardboard plant resumed its activity in 1996 through the investment of Azersun Holding, though first, it was began to function in 1977. At present the enterprise fully covers needs of the country in different variety of cardboard products.

Crude base, including cardboard and paper products, for production is bought from Turkey and Russia. New production line enabled to increase monthly output volume of corrugated cardboard to 6mln sq m comparing with earlier produced 3.5mln sq m of corrugated cardboard and boxes. The plant produces tare for eggs - 240,000 cardboard products a month, as well. It is planned to increase production capacity to 4,000 products for eggs an hour through upgrading of equipment.

The second new production line (12,000pcs/h) enables to produce four-color boxes.
