Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 August/ Trend , corr I. Khalilova/ The Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan is not going to develop new State Program on Improvement of Tax Administration, but an action plan is being devised for the coming 5 years, Natig Amirov, deputy tax minister of Azerbaijan said.
The last program ended in 2007.
"We do not see any need to develop a new program, but Ministry can be assigned to improve tax policy within other state programs," Amirov said.
The set of proposals will be developed till the end of September. Meanwhile, the package of changes and supplements to the Tax Code for 2009 devised by the employees of the Ministry in April also includes measures on tax administration. Deputy minister said one of them was drop in the number of declarations introduced to the tax agencies.
"Some of them are introduced monthly, some in a quarter and some annually," Amirov said.
According to the Tax Code, package of changes to tax legislation for 2009 must be adopted by parliament in May to June of current year so that tax-payers will get familiar with it.
"Though it was not adopted this year, some of them are likely to be included in the budget package for 2009 in order of priority which will be considered by parliament at the end of September," Amirov said.
Almost all tasks set by the previous state program have been fulfilled. There are only several technical moments including installation of electronic terminals which is expected to be completed in 2009. Terminals are scheduled to be installed in all regional tax departments.
Terminal services are offered to tax payers by the tax agencies together with the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs in accordance with partnership agreement.
