Georgia Wait for $500mln from WB and IFC, Says Prime Minister

Georgia, Tbilisi, 17 October / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgia will receive $200mln from International Financial Corporations (IFC) in the end of October, Lado Gurgenidze, the Georgian Prime Minister, said as a result of his visit to the United States.

The World Bank (WB) and IFC plan to allocate $400mln - $500mln to Georgia.

"In October, the international conference of donors will take place. The conference will consider projects in Georgia. The issue is about two or three projects," Gurgenidze said. The conference will take place on 22 October. The Georgian Government is concentrated on preparations to the international conference.

Georgian Prime Minister said that he met with the OPEC leadership in the United States. OPEC plans to invest $150mln in Georgia. The Prime Minister expressed hope that part of the sum would be transferred in December.
