Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 29 / Trend , S.Babayeva/ Azerbaijani Minister for Agriculture Ismat Abbasov will pay a visit to Germany to participate in the annual exhibition International Green Week Berlin 2009, Ministry of Agriculture said on Dec. 29.
"The Minister will head
the delegation and will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony," Ministry
said.
In 2009, the exhibition will be held the 74th time. Since its foundation
in 1926, the International Green Week Berlin has become the world's
largest forum of representatives of agriculture and food industry.
Azerbaijan-Germany agricultural forum will take place within the exhibition,
the Ministry said.
In 2008, the exhibition was attended by more than 1,600 exhibitors from 56
countries, and the number of visitors exceeded 425,000 people, of whom about 100,000
are food industry representatives, wholesalers and retailers.
This year, Switzerland will be the official partner of the exhibition. The
Green Week will exhibit beer, wine and alcoholic beverages, meat and sausage,
seafood, tea, herbs and spices, equipment and machinery for agriculture and
horticulture, seeds, greenhouses, garden supplies, breeding animals, kitchen-ware
and equipment for the home.
