Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 2/ Trend / Azerbaijan's check points introduced single window principle starting from January 1, 2009. It will enable to reduce check time to 20 minutes.
"In the absence of any violations, cargos will be able to pass the border for 20 minutes. In case of presence of problems and lack of necessary documents, certain check ups will be conducted," Aydin Aliyev, head of State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, said earlier.
One of the key principles of single window is the passage of cargo and vehicles through border under control of only one agency. In case of any violation, customs agencies will hold consultations with relevant bodies and liability will be defined by the legislation.
Previously, cargos were checked not only by the State Customs Committee and State Border Service, they were also controlled by the State Phytosanitary Service, State Veterinary Service, Sanitary Office at the Health Ministry and Ministry of Transport and Interior Ministry.
