The Azerbaijani National Depositary Center (NDC) concluded 13 contracts in January to reserve securities and hold registration of shareholders of joint-stock companies. This is more by three contracts compared to January 2008 and by 10 compared to December, the Center said on Feb. 4.
In this period 148 sale and purchase contracts worth 1.42 million shares with the total face value of 9.46 million, as well as three contracts on purchase of and sale of 42 T-bonds with the face value of 36,000 manats.
As much as 433 contracts on 21.49 million shares worth 18.41 million mantas and 7 contracts on sale and purchase of 19 T-bonds worth 190,000 manats were concluded in December 2009. A total of 266 contracts on 1,403,604 shares worth 2.44 million mantas were concluded in January.
The NDC is the state organization and component part of the national depositary system. The Centre is occupied with depositary activity, registers depositaries, included in depositary system and supervises over their activity.
Official currency rate of USD is AZN 0.8071 on Feb.4.
