The management of the Georgian Black Sea Poti Port plans to finish reconstructing the 14th berth of the container terminal and double its throughout capacity, the port's Web site reported.
The Poti Port management allocated 11 million euro to the project.
The project will be implemented in three stages. Two loading facilities at $1 million were purchased as part of the first stage. The second stage includes developing the area in one month. The third stage entails installing the necessary cranes for the terminal.
The Poti port's container turnover increased by 25 percent in 5 years. The owner of the port decided to implement the project within three years. The project will cover 100 hectares.
