Problems with the construction of grain terminal in Poti (Georgia) relate to the political situation in the country, said managing director of the Kazakhstan KazAgro State Holding Zholdimurat Amanbaev, commenting on the Accounting Committee report on the violations revealed in spending the Public budget.

"Because of the political situation in Georgia, it was decided not to launch this facility. The Republican Budget Committee supported our decision. However, this decision was not included in the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture. But the money allocated for the construction of grain terminal is on the account of our organization and will be stored until it is decided to construct," said Amanbaev.

The Accounting Committee has revealed a number of breaks in the activity of KazAgro.

Construction of grain terminals in the ports of Poti (Georgia) and Amirabad was not included in the strategic plan of the Ministry for 2009-2011, the press service of the Accounting Committee said formerly.

The reason is that the concept of agro-industrial complex development was not devised.

"There is no clear relationship between the Ministry of Agriculture and KazAgro. "There is no coordination on the implementation of investment projects, no monitoring and control on the implementation of investment projects," said the press service.

As a result, the Accounting Committee notes the low efficiency of utilization of KazAgro's funds provided in the 2008 national budget for the development of agriculture and food security.
