Azerbaijan, Baku, May 8 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/

In summer, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport and the Korean company Dong Sang Engineering will discuss the presentation and feasibility study (FS) of a new bridge in the area of the Baku bay. The paper was designed by Korea, Azerbaijani Transport Ministry Transport Policy and Economy Department head Sadraddin Mammadov said.

Feasibility study has already been prepared and presented. In June and July, we are planning to consider and discuss these issues with the Korean said," he said.

Mammadov said earlier that the project has not lost its relevance, and global financial and economic crisis did not affect the project. This project is very interesting and important in terms of unloading the transport system of the city. This is also aesthetically very attractive.

Korea will undertake the construction of the bridge at its own expenses. It will carry out construction work, operate, and pay off the project, the bridge will be given to Azerbaijan (the system of the BOT - Build-Operate-Transfer). Azerbaijan will not invest into the project. The passage over the bridge will be paid.

Azerbaijani Deputy Transport Minister Musa Panahov said earlier that the project's cost is $1.2-1.3 billion. Korea will allocate grant for implementation of the project.

The bridge will connect the Baku bay (in Bailov and Zikh settlements). The length of the bridge is 14 kilometres. The bridge will be constructed within five years.
