The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) intends to provide recommendation services to the Azerbaijan State Real Estate Register Service as part of the World Bank's "Property Registration" project, the state service said on May 8.
The decision was taken during the visit of the UNECE, led by Deputy Director of the Commission on the Environment, Housing and Real Estate Management Christine von Schweinichen.
During the meeting, Head of the Azerbaijan State Real Estate Register Service Arif Garashov familiarized the delegation with the process of implementation of the project.
In July 2007, the Azerbaijani government and the WB signed an agreement on the joint introduction of a unified cadastre of real estate. The project consists of four components - registration of real estate management and register of state property; basic cartography and land cadastre; training, policy formulation and project management. The cost of the project is $38.57 million, of which the share of World Bank loan accounts for $30 million. Credit resources are allocated for a period of 20 years with grace period of five years.
