Turkmenistan to ink contract to attend EXPO -2010

The Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry will sign a contract with the Shanghai Coordinating Bureau of World exhibitions to attend the EXPO-2010 to take place in Shanghai on May 1-Oct. 31 2010.

The document also approved the composition of the Organization Commission and a list of Turkmen ministries, departments, enterprises and organizations participating in the exhibition. The Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs will design the Turkmen exposition.

President Gurbangulu Berdymuhamedov's decree says that it is important to further strengthen trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China, promote further intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation between business circles of the two countries, as well as "propaganda of Turkmenistan's achievements in the field of economics in the world".

EXPO 2010 will focus on the problems of the 21st century, importance of following optimal balance between growth in industrial production and preservation of the environment. Shanghai Exhibition is expected to be the most ambitious ever 50-year history of the World universal exhibition - some 70 million people will visit this within 184 days.
