Azerbaijani State Veterinary Service holding monitoring due to swine flu

The State Veterinary Service at the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan has lunched the second monitoring due to the swine flue, spokesperson of the Service Yolchu Khanvali said.

"Monitoring is held in all regions with pig-breeding farms. Samples of blood of animals are taken to laboratories," Khanvali said.

The results of the monitoring will be made public in a week.

The previous monitoring was held in early May. A total of 388 samples of blood were taken for laboratory analyses. No infection А/H1N1 virus has been found.

Similar monitoring will be held in the future as well, Khanvali said.

Pig-breeding farms are in Gabala, Zakatala, Shaki and Balakan regions and in settlements in Baku.

The import of cattle stock from American and European contingent has been prohibited to Azerbaijan.
