A Council of public advisors has been created at the initiative of Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili at the Ministry. The Ministry aimed at involving different strata of society in the process of reforming the system. It represents representatives of society, independent experts, representatives of international organizations-partners and scientific officials headed by WB representative in Georgia Roy Stewort.
The Council held its first meeting on June 4, the Ministry of Finance said. This is the first precedent when solving actual problems and issues management agencies will provide their recommendations to Board of Advisors.
"The Council will work on all relevant issues that fall within the purview of the Ministry of Finance. The purpose of the Council is to involve the public in Ministry's policy. These people can bring to the attention of the Ministry of Finance of its suggestions and recommendations. Through this work, we get the best possible legal basis", Baindurashvili said.
Special meetings, conferences, open houses to familiarize with the reforms and initiatives that the Ministry of Finance plans to implement to overcome the financial crisis and recover investment and business environment in Georgia will be held in the framework of cooperation.
