Azerbaijan's one of giant insurance companies Az Sigorta intends to gather premiums worth 13 million -15 million manat by late 2009, Deputy Chairman of the company's board Khayal Mammadkhanli said.
"We intend to lead on the market on volumes of premiums to 24 million -25 million manats in 2010," Mammadkhanli said.
He said results of the company's activity for 6 months are close to the forecasts which amounted to roughly 6 million manant.
Mammadkhanli said the company planned to gather 15 million manats in 2008, but the impact of the financial crisis impeded this process.
The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported Azerbaijan Sigorta gathered premiums worth 9.59 million manat with 2.32 million manat of payments in 2008.
Az Sigorta insurance operates on the market since November 2006. At present the company has eight branches, as well as some 40 regional offices in the country's regions. Az Sigorta offers 28 kinds of insurance services, three of which are mandatory.
In January-June, Az Sigorta collected premiums worth 5.56 million manat, with 1.95 million of payments.
On July 24, the official exchange rate is 0.8042 manat to $1.
