No one project or initiative in the political, economic and energy spheres as well as in other areas in the region can be realized without the participation of Azerbaijan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at celebrative event to mark the 85th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Tuesday, the state news agency AzerTag reported.
According to the President, Azerbaijan has become a very important country for energy security. "Azerbaijan possesses huge energy potential, which we use very good", - he said.
Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan - a modern state having very strong economic potential. This economic potential depends not only on the energy factor. It once again demonstrated this year in facing in the world economic and financial crisis. Despite the crisis, Azerbaijan economy is developing successfully. Economic growth is seen this year. In non-oil sector growth has exceeded 4 percent. In general, for the first six months of gross domestic product (GDP) in Azerbaijan rose by 3.6 percent. "Today, Azerbaijan is able to solve all the economic, political and social issue", - President said.
President stressed that Azerbaijan's economy is stronger, that it is completely self-sufficient. Energy security, transportation security, food security are provided. "We are independent, does not need any financial assistance. These months of crisis once again showed that Azerbaijan can live and live well at his own expense", - Ilham Aliyev said.
