Retail trade turnover exceeds $1 trillion tenge in Kazakhstan

The retail turnover hit 1.218.390 million tenge in January to July 2009 (without turnover of public food) ($1- 150.7 tenge), reducing 10 percent compared to the same period of 2008, the Kazakh statistical agency said.

The average per capita income was 33,844 tenge in June, 2009. Growth, as compared to June 2008, amounted to 8.3 percent in the face income and 0.7 percent in real income, the agency said.

The average nominal wages of employees was 68,901 tenge in June 2009. Growth amounted to 9.4 percent in June, 2009, compared to June 2008. The index of real wages amounted to 101.6 percent in June 2008, the same source said.

The foreign trade turnover amounted to $30.368.4 billion (without informal trade) in the first half of 2009, decreased as compared to January to June 2008, at 41.8 percent. Exports amounted to $17.173 million (down by 51 percent), imports - $ 13.195.4 billion (drop by 22.8 percent).
