Baku Metro plans to put into operation an additional exit to the metro station of 28 May, which will have an exit to Salatin Askerova street by late 2009, the source in the metro said on August 19.
"Operations continue now. Additional exit is planned to be put into operation by late 2009," the source said.
At present, administrative building of Baku metro is being built near 28 May station. Technological building, automatic telephone exchange and dispatching office of Baku's metro will be situated there.
According to the source, this building is planned to be put into operation by late 2009 after allocation of additional funds. "Additional funds are necessary to complete operations. If they are allocated, the work is planned to be completed by late 2010," the source said.
Additional exits are also planned to be build at other four operating metro stations. Additional exits are planned to be built at the stations of Elmlar Akademiya, Sahil, Icheri Sheher and Nizami, the head of Metro, Tagi Ahmedov, said.
At present, the second exit of Icheri Sheher station is under completion. The second exit of the metro will be located at the Baku Boulevard.
The second exit of Nizami station will be located in front of Azerbaijan Drama Theater, the one of Sahil station - near the Nasimi monument, Elmlar Akademiya station - in front of the Baku State University.
A project will be prepared after research is completed. It can be more developed than that project designed by a consortium of South Korean SK C & C for establishment of intellectual governance system of transport. WB project may include some elements of the underground transport (metro), parking and others.
