Iran exported over $4.4 billion worth of mineral and industrial products in the first four-month period in the Iranian calendar which ended July 22, the public relations department of the Ministry of Industries and Mines reported on Saturday.

Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, China, India, and Afghanistan were the main export destinations for the Iranian-made products, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

Chemical products, mineral products (such as cement, sulfur, lime, and plaster), and plastics were the major exported items.

Iran exported $15.3 billion worth of mineral and industrial products in its last calendar year (ended March 20, 2009).

Mineral and industrial products comprised nearly 80 percent of Iran's non-oil export-bound goods in the 45-months period until April, in the fourth Five-year Economic Development plan which started in 2005.
