The Minister of Industries and Mines Ali-Akbar Mehrabian said that developing and equipping industrial parks in the next four years will be one of the main policies of the ministry, adding that out of the 340 industrial parks and areas approved by the ministry during the ninth administration (2005-2009) 286 came on stream and land was conceded to them.
The Mehr News Agency quoted Mehrabian saying that during this period 7,167 industrial units requiring a work force of 148,252 came on stream.
He noted that there were 790 industrial parks and areas throughout the country which are in relatively good condition but progress in this field calls for further attention.
During the 47 months of work of the ninth administration 21,557 contracts for conceding 8,779 hectares of land were signed with industrialists.
