The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry has developed new methodology for the tax audit process, as part of introducing advanced methods for tax audits based on international experience in auditing taxpayers, with the support of the Office of Technical Assistance to the U.S. Treasury Department, the ministry reported.
This method determines new audit techniques, which are considered the basis of quality for tax audits and to ensure transparency.
The new method, which creates a systemic approach to planning and carrying out tax audits, is expanding the scope of various methods of inspection, and thus setting the direction for the improvement of technical aspects of auditing.
To study new methods of tax audit, the ministry's specialists have participated in training sponsored by the Office of Technical Assistance of the U.S. Treasury Department. At present, the new audit methods are being applied to the subsystem "Audit" - the automated tax information system used by the Tax Ministry.
