Remember the saying: the time is money! The value system has been changed for many people around the world for a long time: the time is more precious than money, and not vice versa! For example, one of the best analysts and practitioners of branding, Marc Gobe writes about it.
And how do you feel about this trend? Have you noticed this phenomenon? How do you react to it? Does this principle changes anything, in your view, in the business?
Consultant on time management, Gleb Archangelski:
I not only notice the trend "the time is more valuable than money", but also actively participate in its formation, preaching the principle and supplying the people with the tools for its implementation. The principle is self-evident, since you can return the lost money, but the lost time - never. Moreover, there are a lot of "money" millionaires, but not "time" millionaires - each of us have 150,000-200,000 hours of active time.
With does this principle change in the business? First, the criteria that is important for decision making. Profit, turnover, and similar figures fade into the background. The forefront includes completeness and timely achievement of business owners' GOALS. Moreover, these goals are not always possible to be applied to the financial and general "material" parameters. Although, of course, the financial figures remain one of the most important SUBTASKS of these goals.
Example: An IT-specialist stubbornly refuses to participate in the training of staff. The owner of the business (manufacturing company, is one of three leaders of its market) says: "Gleb Alexeyevich, prompt with convincing arguments to induce him to increase his competence and be engaged in the training. - And maybe it is cheaper not to persuade the employee, and hire a trainer? - Most likely, in fact, it is cheaper. But for me, it doesn't matter. I want the people with whom I work, to DEVELOP and GROW. This is for me priority than the financial aspects of this issue."
On Oct. 2, 2009, upon the invitation of the Allianz Group consulting company, Baku will host an unprecedented author training "VIP-seminar for top officials" by Gleb Archangelski, for the first time. The seminar program includes:
