The State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry noted the absence of the African swine in Azerbaijan.
"To preserve the stability, the service continues to conduct the necessary activities with other relevant bodies," the service reported.
According to the International Epizootic Office, the African swine was revealed among the wild pigs in the "Caracol" hunting in the Tarumovski District of the Dagestan Autonomous Republic.
Pestis africana suum is highly viral disease of swine, characterized by fever, cyanosis of the skin and extensive hemorrhages in internal organs. It belongs to A list according to the International Classification of infectious diseases of animals. The African swine is not dangerous for people.
