On Nov. 10, Baku hosted the next meeting of the working group on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, said the statement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan.
Currently in Azerbaijan there are 250 Russian companies, 360 joint ventures, co-chairman of the Azerbaijani side, Deputy Minister of Labor Natig Mammadov said at the meeting.
The Deputy Minister said that the established friendly relations and strategic cooperation between the countries suggest a further increase in the number of individuals and companies working in Azerbaijan. In this regard, it is important to protect the rights of labor migrants in both countries, ensure their social protection, as well as create normal conditions for work.
Deputy Head of the Migration Service of Russia Sergey Boldirev said during the meeting that Russia is interested in strengthening cooperation between the countries in the field of migration and will make appropriate efforts for it.
During the meeting, the working group also discussed the draft inter-governmental agreement on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the sphere of labor migration. Protocol on the results of the meeting will be signed on Nov. 11, the same source said.
